Please note:

If you choose to stay at Cabrini during the 2023/24 school year, the Nursing program will not be accredited when Cabrini closes in May 2024. No Nursing courses will be offered this academic year, 2023/24.

Nursing majors at Cabrini are admitted directly into our Bachelor of Science program. As a Nursing major, you will take discipline-specific courses in your first year and spend time in the University’s new Clinical Simulation Center (CSC).

Our major combines the academic rigor, faculty expertise, and experiential learning of the University’s highly regarded science program and core curriculum—which is based on social justice and leadership development—with a modern Nursing curriculum focused on health equity.

Through experiential learning and humanistic engagement, our Nursing majors develop clinical judgment skills to provide safe, quality, inclusive, and humanistic care to diverse populations in a variety of healthcare settings. We provide on- and off-site experiences to refine your skills as you develop into a confident, collaborative leader in nursing practice. Cabrini’s coursework prioritizes preparing you to pass the NCLEX-RN examination, required of all registered nurses.

Our Nursing program is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing to offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. We are also a member of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and the Pennsylvania Higher Education Nursing Schools Association.

Nursing Program Details

As a Nursing major, you will be admitted directly into the BSN program and take discipline-specific courses within your first year. You’ll also sharpen your skills in a state-of-the-art Clinical Simulation Center (CSC), which features two high-fidelity simulation suites and a health assessment skills lab to enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes learned in the classroom and off-campus clinical experiences.

Our Nursing program provides you immediate insight into the theories and concepts essential to nursing practice, professionalism, and your role as a member of the interprofessional healthcare team.

Employment Outlook

As the need for health care grows, researchers project that one million RNs will retire by 2030, which will contribute to a significant nursing shortage.

Cabrini Nursing graduates have earned clinical placements at Jefferson Health, Main Line Health, and additional community partners such as Lutheran Settlement House.

Program Highlights

The BSN program will integrate Cabrini’s mission, Education of the Heart, to provide you with tools to succeed in nursing practice and contribute to optimal health outcomes for local, national, and global communities.

Guided by Cabrini’s mission and Catholic identity, Nursing students will develop clinical judgment skills in order to provide safe, quality, inclusive, and holistic care that preserves human dignity and supports vulnerable populations.

The Cabrini Nursing program will examine the needs of individuals, families, and communities in diverse health care settings while recognizing barriers and opportunities related to health equity.
