Please note: 

If you choose to stay at Cabrini during the 2023/24 school year, the Nursing program will not be accredited when Cabrini closes in May, 2024. No Nursing courses will be offered this academic year, 2023/24.   

The Cabrini University Nursing program prepares graduates to pass the NCLEX-RN examination, required of all registered nurses. They will be equipped to competently practice and thrive in complex healthcare environments and continually advocate for their patients and the nursing profession.

In addition to their community and acute care off-campus clinical experiences, students will practice real-life scenarios with faculty on campus in two high-fidelity simulation suites and a health assessment skills lab in our state-of-the-art Clinical Simulation Center. Cabrini’s caring and personal community of faculty, staff, and fellow students offers support as students develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to succeed as a collaborative healthcare leader.

The BSN programmatic outcomes include:

• Synthesize evolving knowledge from the behavioral and biological sciences, the liberal arts, and nursing science to effectively provide and coordinate high-quality, safe, and patient-centric care.
• Develop strategies grounded in social justice to address the root causes of health inequities and health disparities affecting individuals, families, and communities.
• Provide culturally and spiritually holistic care to diverse populations across the age continuum to promote, protect, and restore the health of individuals, families, and communities.
• Coordinate care across the continuum of healthcare services for all patient populations, including vulnerable and underserved populations.
• Respect the dignity, values, religious or spiritual beliefs, and lifestyles of all individuals, families, and communities while providing inclusive and ethical care.
• Utilize clinical judgment to optimize the expected health outcomes of individuals, families, and communities while providing ethical and evidence-based care.
• Integrate knowledge of community needs, available educational resources, and healthcare organization services to promote optimal expected health outcomes.
• Practice effective communication with members of the interprofessional healthcare team, individuals, families, and communities while implementing interventions, providing education, and planning care.
• Collaborate effectively with members of the interprofessional healthcare team to manage and coordinate the care of individuals, families, and communities.
• Demonstrate leadership characteristics as active members of professional and community organizations in order to influence healthcare, financial, and regulatory policies.
• Advocate for the nursing profession, as well as for individuals, families, and communities, especially vulnerable and underserved populations.
• Use technology competently to document and manage health information in order to promote the delivery of safe and high-quality patient care.
• Seek lifelong learning, personal growth, and career development opportunities.
