Gain critical knowledge and the skills to teach with Cabrini's Education major.

Among the premier teacher preparation programs in Pennsylvania, Cabrini's Education major allows you to earn a Bachelor of Science in Education and customize your skill set with a teacher certification (according to Pennsylvania Department of Education requirements):

Middle-Level (4–8) Education with a Concentration in English/Reading and Language Arts
Pre-K–4 Education
Pre-K–4 Education with PreK–12 Special Education
Secondary Education—double major paired with a certification area: Communications, English, Mathematics, or Social Studies (History)

You may also explore our Educational Studies major, which allows you to earn your Bachelor of Science in Education without a teacher certification.

Education Program Details

Cabrini University teacher education programs provide the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to deal with children from all walks of life and encourage the development of a philosophy of education consistent with American democratic ideals and traditions.

Our field-experience program gives Cabrini Education majors an advantage. As an Education major, you'll apply your knowledge to real-life teaching scenarios, beginning your field experience as early as sophomore year, depending on the certificate program you choose. In fact, Cabrini Education majors have five hands-on field experiences even before their capstone senior year student teaching assignment.

In each experience, you’re paired with a cooperating teacher and University supervisor for extensive, high-quality mentoring.

Many graduates elect to return to Cabrini to earn a Master of Education (MEd), a Doctor of Education, or an additional certification or endorsement. We offer an MEd 4+1 Program which allows students to add an English as a Second Language certification and an MEd degree in a fifth year of study.
