Cabrini students in a residence hall

Housing Selection:

First-year students are housed in Woodcrest, Xavier, or East Residence Hall.

Upperclassmen are housed in West Residence Hall, South Residence Hall, the Cabrini Apartment Complex, and the residential houses.

Most students are housed in double-occupancy rooms with one roommate.

  • Some students are housed in single-, triple-occupancy rooms.
  • Single-occupancy rooms are reserved first for students with a documented medical need.
  • Members of the Honors Living Learning Community (LLC) are housed in East Residence Hall.

Because of the diverse needs of students, Residence Life cannot guarantee placement in a particular building or area.

We recognize that students will not be registered for classes prior to selecting a room. Students must get registered for classes and take care of any holds on their accounts by May 1st, or they will be removed from housing.

New Resident Students

June 1st is the deadline for any roommate preference considerations. Please understand, if you are in a Living Learning Community (LLC), your LLC placement be considered a priority before any roommate requests are considered. Your LLC placement will determine your room assignment location.

First year students apply for housing via the MyHousing portal by completing a housing application once they have paid ther deposit.  Deadline for the housing application is June 1st.

Housing assignments and roommate information are available in mid-July for incoming students to view on their “MyHousing” portal.

New Students will be placed in Woodcrest, East and Xavier Halls this year.

Residence Life matches roommates together based on the housing questionnaire, roommate requests, and Living Learning Community assignments.

ROOM SELECTION DATES:

ROOM SELECTION IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Tuesday, March 02, 2021- Housing Applications Available to students “MyHousing” portal. Accessible through CabriniOne

  • Thursday, March 25, 2021 - Housing Application closes at 11:59 PM

  • Monday, March 29, 2021 - Students can see room selection lottery numbers on MyHousing portal

  • Seniors will participate in the General Room Selection process

  •   Seniors will pick first and only Seniors will be able to select CAC 1st and 2nd floors.

Step-by-Step Process:

  • Step One: Students applies for housing and completes application

  • Step Two: Student will need to form group with roommates if student wants to choose roommates
  • Step Three: Student will receive a random lottery number & will see it on their MyHousing account on March 29, 2021

  • Step Four: Student will select room or will be pulled into a room during one of the room selection days

Below you will find a breakdown of the room selection process:

Room Selection Process:

  • You will select your room, through your MyHousing account, under Room Selection.
  • Each day, the process will open at 8:00 AM and close at 11:00 PM.
  • Rising Seniors will select rooms first, then Rising Juniors, then Rising Sophomores on each day. Your class status/the number of completed credits you have will determine what class you are. You can receive this information from the Registrar’s Office if you are not sure. Room selection times and lottery numbers will be randomly distributed within the class.
  •  Residence Life is allowing students of different class statuses to live together. For example, a Rising Senior can request a roommate of a lower class (junior or sophomore). The Cabrini Apartment Complex (CAC) building is the only building that is restricted to only seniors. For a roommate group to select a room, a fully matched roommate group must be formed prior.

Day 1- Fill to Occupancy (groups) (single rooms) – Wednesday, April 7th

Types of groups who can select on this day!

  • Single rooms available in East Residence Hall
  • Groups of 4 can select from West Residence Hall & South Residence Hall
  • Groups of 6 can select from West Residence Hall & Cabrini Apartments (Seniors only)
  • Groups of 2 can select from Dixon House
  • Groups of 3 can select from Dixon
  • This day is for those who have a fully matched roommate group. The group can select the suite or room they want and fill to occupancy the entire apartment, room or suite.
  • The roommate group will need to be formed based on what room/suite the group wants to select. Therefore, if they want to live in South Hall, in order to fill a suite, they will need a roommate group of 4 people total. If they want to live in Dixon House in a 2-person room, they will need a roommate group of 2 people.
  • Please note, if you want a single room in a suite or apartment, you need to be part of a group to select the single with the group. If you are looking for a single in East, you should not be part of a group.

Day 2- 8:00 AM- 3:00 PM - Groups of Two- Thursday, April 8th

(South Hall, West Hall & any room with 2 spaces left)

Types of groups who can select on this day!

  • Groups of 2 can select from Dixon House
  • Groups of 2 can select a room within a suite in South or West Residence Hall
  • This day allows for those who do not have a large enough group to fill a suite or an apartment, to fill a room within a suite or apartment with a group of 2. For example, if a suite was never selected on Day 1 in West, then a pair of 2 people could select just half of the suite and fill one of the double rooms in the suite.
  • A pair of 2 can also select any double room that is still available, like in Dixon.

Day 2- 4:00 PM- 11:00 PM - Open Selection - Thursday, April 8th

Types of groups who can select on this day!

  • An individual person with no roommate selected can pick any space left on this day.
  • On this day and time, anyone who does not have a roommate, will be able to view what rooms are still open and be able to select any space that is left.
  • For those who do not pick a room during this day, they will be placed by Residence Life.
  • Students do NOT have to have a matched roommate group to participate on this day.
  •
