Act 48
Act 48 is a requirement from the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) for credit hours of continuing education and professional development courses for teachers and administrators.
The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requires six credits of graduate coursework every five years for certified teachers in order for them to maintain their certification as active. This requirement is also known as Act 48.
All of Cabrini University's graduate Education courses, usually with a prefix of EDG, count toward Act 48.
We will report up to six credits every five years to PDE, but students must submit the Act 48 Course Reporting Form - PDF.
Certified teachers are also welcome to take courses at Cabrini in addition to their Act 48 requirements.
To register for Act 48 classes, students may use the Application for Non-degree, Visiting, or Professional Enrichment Student Form - PDF.
