Guidelines for 2023 Summer Hours Program

This summer the University is offering a summer schedule to provide employees with an extended weekend time during the summer months. The modified summer schedule will be in effect from Monday, May 22 through Friday, August 4, 2023 with the exception of the weeks of which contains holidays already during those weeks.   

Offices and departments are required to be open and appropriately staffed throughout the summer.  In office-coverage should be maintained, while offices are participating in Summer Hours. It is important to maintain a high level of service for students and outside constituencies. Arrangements for coverage should be made with each department head in consultation with the vice president. In single-employee departments, arrangements should be made with neighboring department staff to cover one another during absences. Voicemail and Out of Office messages should state your scheduled hours, but please do not state that the University is closed during regular office hours.
