Cabrini Hosts White House Policy Advisor at Annual Symposium

At its sixth annual domestic violence symposium, the University emphasizes the importance of being an engaged bystander.

Kristina RoseRADNOR, Pa. (Sept. 26, 2016) —Cabrini University will welcome Kristina Rose, senior policy advisor for Violence Against Women from the Office of the Vice President, during its sixth annual domestic violence symposium on Oct. 7.

Honoring domestic violence awareness month, the annual event also helps students identify and address dating violence and sexual assault. 

During this year’s program, Rose will emphasize how each of us can be an engaged bystander during her keynote address which will discuss “It’s On Us,” a national campaign that provides tools for people to help keep women and men safe from sexual assault.

Participants will learn about local services during a panel discussion and have the opportunity to speak with agency representatives.

Organizations participating in the symposium include Laurel House, Delaware County Women Against Rape, Radnor Police Department, Kristin Mitchell Foundation, and Cabrini University Public Safety, Health Services, and Counseling and Psychological Services.

The sixth annual Domestic Violence Symposium was underwritten by the Barbara and John Jordan Endowed Fund to Promote Domestic Violence Education at Cabrini. The Fund helps support campus and community educational programs to promote dating and domestic violence awareness and prevention, with a special focus on the impact of domestic violence on children.
