ART + EFFECT – High School Poster Contest
Theme: Environment
The Department of Visual + Performing Arts at Cabrini University will be hosting its sixth annual Art + Effect High School Poster Contest this fall. The objective of the contest is for students to create a conceptual poster that promotes the environment. Students can explore a variety of media from traditional to computer-generated based for their creative solutions.
Entries will be juried on originality, craftsmanship and thematic message. Judges are professional graphic designers. Selected works will be displayed in an exhibition at Cabrini University’s Gorevin Gallery from December 11, 2022 to January 27, 2023. An award ceremony and opening reception will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 1pm.

THEME:
The Earth is our home. The environment contains all the necessary resources to survive. Taking care of the environment ensures we have access to food, water, and shelter. The interpretation and promotion of environmental issues are open for exploration. Possible topics related to this subject are but are not limited to carbon footprint, deforestation, global warming, pollution (air, water, land), sustainability, waste disposal, and more.

RULES:
- Contest open to all high school students
- Submissions can incorporate a variety of media from traditional to computer-generated
- A successful poster design will integrate type and image to impose a unique message
- Only one entry per student
