There are so many fun things to do throughout the year at Cabrini. I have listed some of my favorite and most popular activities for each season! Fall is my favorite season at Cabrini as far as activities go!
Fall:
Homecoming Festival:
The weekend of homecoming includes a homecoming festival! This includes free t-shirts, food trucks, games, italian ice, and sometimes even a mechanical shark!
Play a game, or two, of cornhole with some friends and family!
Enjoy free Rita's Water-Ice and Dunkin' iced coffee! Students also recieve a voucher to grab a free meal of their choice at one of the food trucks!
Get free caricatures drawn of you and your friends or family. It's always exciting to see how they turn out!
Carnival:
Another Fall activity is the carnival, which takes place during orientation weekend. There is always food and lots of fun activities and music!
The inflatable slide was a fun addition to the carnival!
Free lighted wands and glow-in-the-dark jewelry for everyone! Follow your Orientation Leaders to the fun and excitement!
Freak Week:
Freak Week is a full week of fun events and activities all week leading up to halloween! Included in these events is the Haunted Mansion, where you walk throughout the mansion and see your Cabrini peers in costume to scare you, who knows when you'll see them!
Another event is the Ghost Hunters, who this past year went through The Mansion to see if they could find any ghosts, you'll have to go to see what happens! Maybe the Mansion really is haunted...
Halloween Havoc is another exciting event during Freak Week! Put on your costume and have fun playing games and competing against your fellow Cavaliers!
Teams compete to win different games, and of course entertain the crowd.
Teams get dressed up in their best costumes, who's costume will be the favorite of the night?
Come out to see the Cabrini Cheerleaders show their skills along with the Cabrini Dance team and several other talented groups!
Among all of these fun events in the Dixon Center, there are also games for field hockey, soccer, and volleyball as well as swim meets!
If you want to go off campus, there are several opportunities to get discounted tickets to go see the Philadephia Flyers play.
Winter:
One of my favorite parts of winter, as cliche as it sounds, is when it snows at Cabrini. The campus is beautiful with buildings accented with snow.
Athletics:
As far as activities go, there are chances for students to get discounted tickets for 76ers games throughout the basketball season! If you're not a sixers fan, or you'd rather stay on campus... you can go support your fellow Cavaliers while cheering on our Cabrini Basketball and Swim teams!
Watching either Cabrini Men's or Women's Basktball is sure to keep you on your feet!
Come support your Cavaliers at a Cabrini Swim meet!
If you want to get off campus and don't prefer athletics, or would rather have a more relaxed night... Cabrini offers discounted movie tickets in our SEaL office!
Live Nativity:
Closer to Christmas, there is the annual Live Nativity that is presented that includes readings and carols to spark the Christmas Spirit. Come watch your fellow cavaliers act out the scenes of Christmas and the birth of Jesus Christ.
Spring:
One of my favorite parts of the spring is the Spring Formal! It is always interesting to see what the theme of the night will be! Spring Formal in 2019 was throwback-themed with music from different decades and fun decor and photobooth! In 2020, the planned theme was Las Vegas, however we had to leave school due to COVID-19 before being able to go!
Cabrini Night at the Phillies:
A fun night out in the spring is Cabrini night at The Phillies! Support the Phillies MLB team with your friends and Cabrini peers!
Did I mention t-shirts?!
If you want to cheer on your Cabrini teams, the Spring season includes Lacrosse, baseball, and softball games in addition to swimming meets and tennis matches! Our men's lacrosse team were National Champions in 2019!
Cav-a-thon:
Cav-a-thon is another huge event at Cabrini University. Dance the night away to raise money for pediatric cancer, speciafically to donate to the Children's Hospital of Philadephia (CHOP).
You can also "light a candle" in rememberance of those who has passed from cancer, or in support of those battling the disease.
Among all of the seasons at Cabrini University, there are so many fun activities and events to participate in! I have described some of my favorites, ones that I have participated in, and some of our popular events. However, there are so many additiaonl great events and activities going on throughout the seasons at Cabrini, so get involved and have fun! (Sometimes free t-shirts are even involved!)
