Cathy Yungmann
Associate Professor, Communication
Catherine Yungmann has been at Cabrini since 1986 and believes wholeheartedly in the University’s promise of delivering an “education of the heart.” She believes that Cabrini's rich service-learning tradition leaves students poised for a lifelong commitment to service that extends well beyond graduation.
Her classes are taught with a careful balance of support and self-reliance. Yungmann emphasizes the importance of creative independence in her classroom, but also is a firm believer in being available when students have questions or need guidance.
Mentoring and demonstration activities are essential to her courses, as they allow students to experiment on their own and generate ideas independently.
Yungmann received a Bachelor of Arts from Kent State University and an Master's of Arts. in radio and television management from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. She serves as the executive producer for Cabrini Video Studio programming, including productions for Comcast cable, broadcast television, and the web.
She also is the senior project manager and producer for the Communication department convergence websites. She regularly attends seminars on new communication technologies so that she may incorporate new methods into her curriculum.
Yungmann serves on the Board of Directors of the League of Women Voters of Haverford Township, where she helps plan and implement voter education activities and organizes candidate forums.
She also consults with the Haverford Township School District on video development.
