Undecided on Your Major?

Posted on 10/28/2016 7:48:15 PM by Christian Ridenhour

Do you not know what major is right for you? There are a lot of majors and minors to think about when getting ready for college. At Cabrini University, some of the majors offered are marketing, educational studies, biology, exercise science and health promotion, and communication, just to name a few. There are quite a bit of minors here at Cabrini, including black studies, sports management, political science, and leadership studies.

If you're struggling to choose a major, consider one that revolves around something that you love. Do you know what you love but don’t know what to major in? Go talk to the Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD), where the staff will assist you in figuring out a major that will fit what you're passionate about. If there is something that may interest you and you are not sure if you want to do it as a career, try out a class to see if you like the class. If you end up liking it, declare that as a major. There may be more than one major that interests you, so you can declare both as your majors.

It's okay to have a major and not know what you want to do with it. The CCPD can help you find what you can and want to do with your major. Plus, there are always internships that can help you find out what you want to do as a career. And remember, a major doesn't have to define your entire future. There are many people who change jobs in their career no matter what they majored in, so figure out what you like and major in that.
