Why I Did Absolutely Nothing Over Break

Posted on 3/4/2018 7:06:12 PM by Ceonna Morris

The Walking Dead

When I was younger I always imagined spring break to be a week of partying, no rules, and bikinis. Well, that's what I saw before the ax swinging psycho would gut all the teenagers on their dad's yacht. Besides the dying part, that's what I wanted. Before I entered college I had already decided that spring break 2018 was going to be lit. As spring break approached, my plans changed drastically. What movies didn't show was the lead up to spring break. The studying, the anxiety, and most importantly, the struggle to do anything other than sleep in my spare time. The idea of planning a trip and shopping for a spring break wardrobe seemed stupid and unnecessary, so instead of partying and meeting new people, I decided to hibernate in my home this spring break. I did not pick up my phone, look at my email, or anything else outside of watching the Walking Dead and eating. Now that I'm back at school, I feel relaxed and ready to take on the pressures of school. My advice is to follow the following 3 steps to get a similar effect:

1. Sleep

Between classes, work, and other responsibilities, sleep isn't always an option. Get it while you can.

2. Treat yourself

Go get your nails done, create something, dye your hair,  or eat your favorite food. It's your down time so make the most of it.

3. Find something to binge watch

Walking Dead, Gossip Girl, and The Originals are some of my favorites. Find movies and shows that you enjoy and relax.
