Using the Writing Center

Posted on 11/19/2017 6:26:00 PM by Michelle Guerin

Finals are just around the corner! In my core class, we have to write a paper about an artist and their work (this is an art class).

When writing the paper, I realized a few requirements. The paper has to be 750 or more words AND has to be checked by the Writing Center before sending it in.

First off, 750 words is a lot of words about a topic I have no background on. Second, I never stepped foot in the Writing Center on campus ever before.

I got my paper finished and decided to go during walk-in hours. The center was right on campus and it was actually a friend that checked my paper since she was on duty for the walk-ins. She gave me great tips and tricks to be able to make my paper sound better. It was super easy and then she explained why she wrote down the corrections and suggestions.

It’s an amazing tool and many people forget sometimes that help is always there on Cabrini’s campus. The Math and Writing Center is right on campus and is open for anyone during walk-in hours. Always remember to use all your resources if you need to!
