Cabrini’s digital literary magazine, Woodcrest Magazine, garnered a Silver Crown Award from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.
Cabrini is one of only three institutions recognized nationally for a college digital magazine, and one out of 1,190 entries. This is the third Crown award that Cabrini has received.
Publications are judged on their excellence as shown by their design, photography, concept, coverage, and writing.
For the 2014–15 issue being awarded, Assistant Professor of English Amy Persichetti, EdD, led Cabrini students in writing, editing, and publishing, and student editors were Ben McGinnis ’15 and Anthony Lauder ’16.
“I have sincerely enjoyed watching this edition of Woodcrest unfold,” Persichetti said.
“This particular team of students innately understood how to play to one another’s strengths in the face of different styles, talents, and approaches within the editorial staff. It’s a testament to how far a creative project can go when everyone recognizes and celebrates the diverse talents around the editing table.”
