Davis has been teaching in the Education Department at Cabrini since 2007. She taught research courses in the Master of Education (MEd) program and also served as a site supervisor at Neumann Goretti High School in Philadelphia.

“Aimee quickly familiarized herself with the core courses in the MEd programs and began sharing excellent scholarly work to support learning outcomes,” said Amy Hoyle, PhD, Chair of the Educational Policy and Leadership Department.

“Her teaching at Cabrini reflects our mission—teaching from the heart and for the heart—and she grounds her teaching in encouraging our graduate students to teach for social justice and to get involved in advocacy for education.”

Since joining Cabrini, Davis has participated each year in the Summer Seminar and has been actively engaged in all faculty development opportunities for adjuncts.

She is completing a doctoral degree as she teaches high school in addition to her adjunct role at Cabrini. She received her award during an Adjunct Faculty Appreciation Ceremony and Reception on April 11, 2016.

Abbott has taught at Cabrini since 2008; first, as a lecturer in Human Resource Management in the undergraduate program and currently as an instructor in the Master of Science in Leadership (MSL) program.

Her connection to Cabrini doesn’t stop there; Abbott received a bachelor’s in business administration, a bachelor’s in human resources management, and a master’s in organizational leadership from Cabrini. Her daughter, Erica, followed in her footsteps, pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Cabrini.

Bringing decades of leadership experience into the classroom, Abbott works full time as a human resources business director at Quest Diagnostics. At Cabrini, she routinely teaches courses including “The Art and Science of Leadership” and “Organizational Behavior and Psychology.”

“I frequently have students simply come up to me and talk about how much they enjoy her classes, even though they are considered quite challenging, because of her experience and enthusiasm,” said Todd Matthews, PhD, Chair of the Leadership and Organizational Development program.

“As an alumna of the school, she has long been a part of the Cabrini family, but she has made the conscious choice to continue to give back to the College in the most tangible way possible: by bringing her expertise to our current students in the classroom.

“Her dedication to our mission is clear by her tireless engagement with the campus and her genuine enthusiasm in doing so. She really is a joy to work with and a stalwart supporter of all that we do at Cabrini.”

Abbott was presented with her award during an MSL class on Thursday, April 21.
