“Believe in yourself,” Jonathan A. Brassington said while speaking at Cabrini. The CEO, Co-Founder, and Partner at LiquidHub came to campus on Wednesday, April 5, to share his knowledge on global leadership while serving as Cabrini's Executive in Residence, which is sponsored each semester by the Nerney Leadership Institute.
LiquidHub is a global organization with operations in North America, Asia, and Europe. The company's main goal is to help its clients solve complex problems through technology innovation.
Brassington has continually helped his company get recognized as one of the fastest-growing companies in the greater Philadelphia and mid-Atlantic region, including recognition from Inc. 5000 and Philly 100.
During his successful career, Brassington received the Philadelphia Business Journal’s “40 under 40” award in 2005, was named one of Philadelphia’s Most Innovative Executives in 2007 at the Philadelphia Innovation Conference, and received the Temple University’s Fox Information Technology Innovator Award in 2009.
When speaking to Cabrini’s students and community, Brassington spoke about the importance of finding a person in one’s life who can be a strong mentor. Someone who has great management skills and who they can look to for advice and guidance.
As a successful leader, Brassington shared a key part of maintaining that success. He stressed that everyone needs to have a more positive outlook on life and to quit walking around with the attitude that “life is hard.”
“You need to recognize that your life journey, which is your personal life and your professional life, will have ups and downs,” he said. “But always know that you have that insatiable flexibility to recover.”
