Student Literary Magazine Garners National Honor

Posted on 5/12/2015 7:56:00 AM

RADNOR, Pa. (May 12, 2015)—Woodcrest, the Cabrini College Department of English student literary magazine, earned the highest recognition from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA).

One of only three collegiate digital publications awarded the “Gold Crown,” the 2013-14 edition of Woodcrest was honored for overall excellence in design, photography, concept, coverage and writing.

Through writing, publishing, and editing courses, students assemble and cultivate the digital publication annually.

Michelle Goff ’14 and Ashley Osbun ’14 served as editors of the award-winning edition. Ben McGinnis ’15 and Anthony Lauder ’16 are editors of the latest edition. Amy Persichetti, Ed.D., assistant professor of English, is the faculty advisor of the magazine.

“The magazine is a showcase for creative talents across the campus and an excellent hands-on experience for students who wish to enter the fields of publishing and editing,” says Persichetti.

“It has become one of the College’s crown jewels a part of the newly-minted writing major.”

The project-based learning courses are available each year. To view the award-winning website, visit www.woodcrestmagazine.com.
