Cabrini Honored for Impact in Norristown

Posted on 5/20/2015 7:41:00 AM

RADNOR, Pa. (May 20, 2015)—Cabrini College was commended by the Montgomery County Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) for significant outreach efforts in—and positive impact on—Montgomery County, specifically in Norristown, Pa.

The College received the award at the OIC’s 50th Anniversary Celebration Awards Banquet earlier this month.

The award highlights the College’s leadership—through the Wolfington Center—for understanding the needs of the community and bringing quality mentors and educational opportunities to the residents of Norristown.

“We are honored to receive this recognition of our partnership with Norristown and Montgomery County,” said Thomas Southard, director of the Wolfington Center. “The College’s work in Norristown provides invaluable opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to engage with the community and create shared impact.”

Through multiple partnerships, Cabrini works with the community on initiatives that include homeless outreach, domestic violence awareness, and education empowerment. The College also partners with the business and arts organizations to provide support with research and advocacy.
