Cabrini Anticipates World Meeting of Families

Posted on 9/14/2015 3:53:00 PM

RADNOR, Pa. (Sept. 14, 2015)—On Sept. 26 and 27, Pope Francis will join the World Meeting of Families for the Festival of Families and Papal Mass.

The historic event offers unique opportunity for members of the Cabrini community.

In preparation, the College has modified its schedule to ensure the safety of its students, faculty, and staff.

College Operations
It is anticipated that more than 1.5 million visitors will be traveling into the greater Philadelphia region. Radnor Township is anticipating major traffic jams, which could negatively impact the ability to access campus or depart from campus.

As a result, like many colleges in the area, Cabrini College will not hold face-to-face classes on campus on Friday, Sept. 25 through Monday, Sept. 28 at 4:30PM.

Please note that classes are not cancelled on these days, but will be provided in a different format.

Faculty with classes on those days have been asked to either conduct class online or use alternative instructional techniques. Please discuss the plans for those days.

All online classes will be held as scheduled.
Classes scheduled after 4:30PM on Monday, Sept. 28 will be held as usual.

Staff
During this time, essential personnel are expected to be on campus. Otherwise, employees are asked to stay safe given the expectations of extensive traffic and travel restrictions.

Residents
Resident students whose schedules allow them to travel home by Thursday evening, Sept. 24, are strongly encouraged to return home.

Those who are unable to, or who elect not to do so, should note the following information about campus services during this period:

The last Shuttle on Saturday will depart campus at 10:00PM to pick up shoppers at the Mall and Walmart. The last Shuttle on Sunday will depart campus at 6:00PM.
