Adult Learners are Focus of New Cabrini Partnership, Customized Program

The College unveils a tailored hybrid model and new partnership with the City of Philadelphia.

RADNOR, Pa. (July 15, 2015)—Cabrini College will help make degree completion more attainable for adult learners with the launch of a customized hybrid learning model and new partnership with the City of Philadelphia. The program and partnership begin this fall.

The back-to-back decisions to add both the program and partnership create accessible—and affordable—degree completion options for adult learners, within a specialized hybrid program.

“All learners should have access to higher education to advance their careers and academic interests,” said Cabrini President Donald B. Taylor, Ph.D. “By customizing its quality programs to fit the needs of adult learners, Cabrini helps motivated students do just that.”

Within a flexible schedule and accelerated timeline, the program blends in-person work with online work. Classroom and hybrid coursework will be supported by dedicated learning mentors. Students complete two courses in one semester, attending classes only once a week.

“Adult learners need to balance life’s priorities while continuing their education,” says Marguerite Weber, D.A., vice president for adult and professional programs, who filled the newly created position in January. “Cabrini’s new hybrid model works within a student’s schedule to provide individual support that empowers learners to focus on academic success.”

To ensure a customized degree within high-demand fields, the College re-structured its Bachelor of Arts in Leadership program to incorporate the focus areas of accounting, business, communication, criminology, English, psychology and sociology. Students may obtain tailored degrees in just 24 months.

To help make completing a bachelor’s degree more affordable, the College has partnered with the City of Philadelphia for the Returning to Learning program. The partnership offers city employees, their spouses, and dependents tuition discounts on all programs, waived application fees, and available financial aid for full-time students.
