Writing Center
The Writing Center strives to be a welcoming space where thoughtful readers help you meet your writing goals. We provide one-on-one consultations for students working on any academic writing project at any stage of development (for example, planning, drafting, revising, etc.). Through attentive listening, conversation, and collaboration, we can provide feedback and address questions and concerns that will help you become a more effective writer over time.
As a part of the Academic Enrichment area within the Center for Student Success (CSS), we work collaboratively with colleagues to meet shared goals, including the advancement of academic support, retention, student professional development, and accessibility. Within the University community, our goal is to contribute to a lively culture of writing, where writers have the opportunity to explore writing for specific audiences and with purpose, to practice writing in multiple disciplines and genres, to gain self-awareness of their own writing process, and to learn the value of writing as a pathway for learning, reflection, and communication.
We can also serve as a resource for faculty and staff interested in feedback on their writing in progress, or in a consultation regarding writing instruction.
