Facilities and Operating Procedures
On-campus buildings and rooms have been surveyed for capacity that maintains appropriate physical distancing guidelines, and seating has been reduced and repositioned accordingly. Buildings will adhere to lower capacities to maintain compliance with health guidelines and physical distancing mandates.
Additionally, campus signage provides further directions for mitigating the spread of the virus.
Keep your Cabrini University ID with you at all times when you are on campus. Additionally, you should have a Cabrini University parking tag to ensure on-campus parking without being ticketed. If you are in need of either of these items, please reach out to IDcard@cabrini.edu.
Classroom setups have been assessed and adjusted to accommodate appropriate physical distancing guidelines.
Anyone entering a classroom is required to wear a face mask and adhere to physical distancing guidelines, including while entering and exiting.
Professors will wear a face shield while lecturing to address audibility and accessibility concerns as well as audio quality concerns for the livestreamed counterpart to class attendance in the hyflex modality. When not lecturing, everyone should adhere to the guidelines surrounding wearing a face mask.
Classrooms will be thoroughly disinfected to start each day, and cleaning materials will be provided for sanitizing throughout the day and between uses.
In addition to the classroom guidelines above, current laboratory safety procedures (available in the Science Department Handbook) will be in effect.
Residence halls will open for students to return to their rooms February 13 and 14, prior to all modalities being resumed on February 15.
Normal occupancy will be observed, with limitations of no more than two students per room. Roommates will function like a family unit with regard to social distancing; for example, face masks do not need to be worn within your residence hall room, but must be worn in hallways and common spaces and within your residence hall room when you have visitors (external visitors such as family members or other students, or Facilities or Public Safety staff).
Resident students are required to provide documentation of a negative COVID-19 test result prior to returning to campus. Please see the Residence Life page for more information on returning to residence halls and testing requirements.
Cabrini will extend its no visitor policy in residence halls (external and from other residence halls) throughout the spring 2021 semester.
Throughout the semester, visits by family members in the halls will be limited to assistance with pick up and drop off of items only. Family members will not be permitted to enter any campus buildings, including residence halls, except during Move-In and Move-Out.
Off-campus visitors, including delivery persons, must adhere to our updated Visitor Guidelines and are not permitted in buildings. All visitors should wear masks and comply with the physical distancing and public health guidelines in place.
Meals and Dining Services
Dining services will be available throughout the spring 2021 semester with strict mitigation measures and enhanced safeguards in place. In accommodation of the extended closure of on-campus activity, the first available meal will be dinner on February 13. All dining will be take-out only until further notice.
Signage will indicate appropriate distancing guidelines and designated flow of foot traffic. All stations will be attended by Sodexo personnel, and we are expanding our single-use, disposable item options. We will also increase the take-out and Grab and Go options.
When dining, wear a mask when entering, exiting, and walking around (getting food, drinks, etc.) the dining areas. When/if in-person dining resumes, you may remove your mask when you are seated and physically eating or drinking, but should wear it as soon as you have finished your meal.
The vending machines will be operational in Founder’s, Room 102, with signage indicating adjustments to procedures and wipes for cleaning. Those machines will be accepting credit cards only.
Food may be delivered to campus, but delivery persons must adhere to our updated Visitor Guidelines and are not permitted in buildings. Contactless delivery, in which payments are made online and physical distancing is observed during delivery, is preferred.
To encourage socializing in adherence to physical distancing and mitigation measures, Cabrini has audited and enhanced common areas such as the Commuter Lounge, the vending machine lounge in Founder's, the Commons, and outside residence halls and other buildings. Common enhancements include increased WiFi signal, appropriately spaced seating, and enhanced lighting.
Please check the Cabrini Recreation website for the most up-to-date information on Cabrini's athletics facilities policies relating to COVID-19.
The Dixon Center and Nerney Pavilion remain open to on-campus community members only, with strict mitigation measures and enhanced safeguards in place. Physical distancing of 13 feet must be maintained at all times when using equipment, which will be marked accordingly.
Reservations (occurring in 45-minute increments starting on the hour) for exercise areas and equipment must be made utilizing the reservation system available on the Cabrini Recreation website. Cabrini credentials are required to make a reservation.
Limited occupancy and alternate hours of operation to allow for enhanced cleaning will be enforced.
All facility users should enter through the Nerney Pavilion Main Lobby, where you will be screened and counted at the Front Desk. All other exterior doors will remain inaccessible to card readers and/or fingerprint access. You must exit the facility via the Pool Lobby, after which you will be removed from the occupancy count.
Masks must be worn at all times in the building. Those swimming laps should wear a mask onto the pool deck; it can be removed when you are actively swimming laps, and should be worn again as soon as you have finished.
If possible, wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer upon entering the facility (prior to using equipment) and as soon as possible after completing your workout.
Locker rooms will be unavailable for use until further notice.
Holy Spirit Library
Throughout the semester, Holy Spirit Library will remain open to community members (students, faculty, staff) only, with strict mitigation measures and enhanced safeguards in place. Capacities will be reduced to accommodate physical distancing guidelines. Wear your mask and maintain six feet of physical distance at all times.
