Tips & Tricks: College Edition

Posted on 11/22/2019 2:50:21 PM by Abigail Scardelletti

With the spring 2020 semester just a few weeks away, here are a few tips and tricks to start off on the right foot. There are so many different details in your day that can make it or break it. Below are some dos and don’ts of making your day run smoothly.

Do’s:

  • Pack snacks! You may not always have time to get food from Cav’s Corner.

  • Bring a sweatshirt wherever you go; classrooms can get really cold and the weather changes quickly.

  • Have a portable charger and have it with you at all times. Your schedule may shift at any second and getting to a charger may not be possible.

  • Use Crush to your advantage. You can get packaged products like eggs and milk and buy them using your meal plan. It will help you budget and save money.

  • Go to SEaL during Fast Track weeks to purchase $5 round trip tickets for SEPTA. It also helps budgeting by saving you $9.

  • Buy a reusable to-go box to use in Cav’s Corner. It’s only $5 and can be found in the Wolfington Center. It helps save the environment and can be used to store food.

Don’ts:

  • Don’t skip class often. It will negatively affect your grade which will do harm to your mental health.

  • Don’t take on too much. Your academics come first, so over-scheduling yourself will not help you.

  • Don’t try to please everyone. It will only hurt you and it is not going to work. Do what you need to do and be nice when you can.

  • Don’t stay up too late. If you don’t know the information by midnight, just go to bed and study some more in the morning.

  • Don’t isolate yourself. Being around your peers will remind you that everyone is in the same boat and you all can work on getting out of it together.
