Springtime at Cabrini!

Posted on 3/27/2021 8:34:47 PM by Amber Berkheimer

Spring and warm weather are officially moving onto Cabrini’s campus! With this comes happiness, longer days, more sun, and a sense of hope, as well as thoughts of summer. While we’ve been snowed in for a while here on campus, the start of Spring weather has been such a refreshing break from the frigid temperature and dark evenings. pink flowers

Recently, I have been spending a LOT of time outdoors. I don’t know what it is about it, but my mood is boosted astronomically as soon as the cold weather goes away. I have been spending time reading, doing homework, and hanging out with friends outside. Being outdoors can be a great natural stress reliever, especially at this time of the year. I’ve also been going on walks. Whether it’s just around campus or walking to local stores, I enjoy walking instead of driving on nice days to get a little more sunlight and to get some fresh air.

I’ve also been taking advantage of the nice weather by going places with my friends that we couldn’t go to as much during the winter. We have been going to places like Valley Forge Park and restaurants with outdoor seating. Little breaks like these from schoolwork can be so beneficial. I’ve found that when I take time for myself and to be with my friends during this weather, I feel so much more motivated to get schoolwork done and to get ahead on assignments.

While I’m on the topic, I would recommend getting some much-needed rest and relaxation during the Easter break. It can be taxing to focus primarily on school for so long. I feel this break is much needed and very well deserved for all of us. There is a time to focus on schoolwork and grades, but there is also a time to focus on yourself and to recognize if your needs are being met by your current schedule and routines.

The warm weather and longer days can have great impacts on your physical well-being and mental well-being. Take some time to hang out with friends, get outside, and move around. We only have a couple more months of school to get through before summer break!
