Helpful Resources For Your Time at Cabrini

Posted on 2/6/2019 12:50:30 PM by Connor Tustin

Attending a small, Catholic University like Cabrini has tons of benefits. One of the biggest is all of the hands-on opportunities and resources Cabrini presents its students with.

Many of these resources exist on campus, but some even extend out into the real world!

Here are just a few of the great resources for students to use while attending Cabrini:

Tutoring services:

Cabrini offers a variety of different services when it comes to getting assistance with classes. Located in the Iadarola Center is the Math Resource Center and Writing Center. At the Math Resource Center, students gain one-on-one help or simply just find a quiet place to work on homework. Students can also visit the Writing Center for assistance on any writing assignments they may have. The Writing Center offers both walk-in hours and appointments. Hours vary, so be sure to check before heading over. Both of these resources are completely included with tuition. In addition to the two tutoring centers, there are also plenty of student tutors for specific classes. Be sure to check your class syllabus or ask a professor about the availability of a potential class tutor.

Center for Career and Professional Development:

The Center for Career and Professional Development, also known as the CCPD, is located in the Widener Center. This is a great hub for everything and anything that has to do with jobs. Whether you are looking for a small part-time babysitting gig or a full-time career, this is the place to go. The CCPD hosts numerous events throughout the year on topics like networking, resume-building, interview techniques, LinkedIn workshops, and much more! Check out the CCPD page on the Cabrini website to stay up to date with all events and hours!

Holy Spirit Library:

The Holy Spirit Library is located conveniently in the center of campus. The library offers students a place to study, hang out, and print any assignments they may have. The printers located in the library are completely included in tuition, however, students are allotted a certain amount of prints each semester. The Commuter Lounge is also located in the library for our commuter students who need a place to hang out in between classes. There are vending machines, sofas and more to relax in between classes. (TIP: Don’t bother buying a printer to bring to school. The library can handle all of your printing needs for your duration here at Cabrini. As a junior digital Communication and Social Media major, I have never run out of prints.)

Dixon Center:

Not only is the Dixon Center home to our NCAA Division III athletic teams, but it is also home to our fitness center. The newly renovated fitness center includes everything you may need to work out and stay healthy. The hours for the center are extremely flexible so that students can always find time to work out during a busy college schedule. The center also hosts yoga, Zumba, and more! Be sure to check the Dixon Center front desk for a list of these offerings.

Cabrini Shuttle:

The shuttle stop, located in the Dixon Center parking lot, helps students get all over the Radnor area. Stops include two local train stations, Walmart, King of Prussia Mall, Lancaster Avenue, Wawa, Target, and more! The shuttle hours vary on the time of year and availability. Check the shuttle page on the Cabrini website or the poster at the shuttle stop for the available times and routes.
