Poem by: Camilia Katkocin ('20)
I wanted to say goodbye to you,
Even if it is just once more,
To let you know you made a mark
When I walked out of that door.
I want just one more lesson,
One more paper, one more test.
One more chance for me to realize
You made my four years the best.
Office hours could be a treat,
A time to catch up and hang out.
The best professors I’ve ever had
Is something that I brag about.
When potential students ask me,
What is your favorite part?
The answer is so simple.
The professors because they have a heart.
You care about what you teach
And get excited about the little things.
In my mind, you are all angels,
Just without the wings.
I wish for one more day,
Just one more opportunity,
Before I left your classroom
Where you imparted your wisdom on me.
If only I knew on that day
That class would be my last
Before I left for home
And Cabrini became part of my past.
Thank you all so much
For everything you’ve done.
And please excuse the cliché,
But you’ve made learning fun.
I did not realize until now
Just how much you played a part
In the growth that I experienced
And in the education of my heart.
