Congratulations, graduate!
It's finally done! All four years of high school are finally over! So what now? College is approaching and for some that can be thrilling, but others may feel differently—and that's okay! Pretty soon your best friends who you're used to seeing every day will separate and go off to different colleges and universities and you might be left feeling a little anxious about some of these changes. It might even seem like they're totally ready to move on but what I'm here to tell you is it will be okay!
I was definitely someone who had an amazing high school experience. I made some great friends that I am still friends with today and created memories to last a lifetime. I was very worried to leave my family and friends and go off to school and start a new chapter of my life. I knew change was necessary but it all felt like it was happening way too fast.
Don't let your nerves get to you. Your college experience will surpass all of your expectations if you allow it to! Come to Cabrini with an open mind and you'll be amazed at all of the wonderful people you'll meet, opportunities that will present themselves, and all you'll accomplish over your four years here.
In the meantime, spend the days of your summer doing what makes you happy! Make sure to spend as much time as you can with your friends, especially if they're planning on going to schools that might be pretty far from home. That being said, don't forget about your family! Those are the people who love you and will miss you the most! Your mom will cry her eyes out when she leaves you at school for the first time so set aside some time to let them know they're appreciated.
Lastly, prepare yourself. Think of all of the things you'll need to pack and start shopping early. You'll catch some great sales if you don't wait until the last minute! Take the summer to think about what you might want to accomplish in your first year at Cabrini. There are so many clubs to join, activities to participate in, and opportunities awaiting you! It is essential to get involved as soon as possible because it is a great way to make friends and have fun while doing something you enjoy!
The best is definitely yet to come!
