Today I am thankful for the fact that I am studying at Cabrini. I’m only a freshman and this experience is already opening so many doors for me, it’s giving me the opportunity to excel in life, learn so much about so many things, and be part of a community.
Last week, I saw snow for the first time! It was a whole new experience, I know this might sound (or read) corny but I felt like in a movie. In spite of the cold, I loved it; but the season is already warning me that I need to take measures in order to stay warm and take care of myself.
Cabrini publishes a calendar each month with all the events that are going on in our campus, and there are at least 3 or 4 each week. There are academic events, social-justice oriented events, student forums, sports games, fun activities and dance parties. To not go to at least one of these a week, is to simply miss out.
Recently I was a part of a conversation panel organized by Catholic Relief Services and co-sponsored by the Wolfington Center. The panel was called Dialogue with Migrants: Why we are here. I got to discuss my immigration story with the other panelists and all the people who attended the event.
Cabrini offers Reacting to the Past games in some ECG classes as an alternative, interactive, and interesting way to learn about history.
