The end of the semester can be stressful for a hardworking student like yourself...

Dear Stressed-out Student,

So it's getting toward the end of the semester, and as time goes on the assignments become more difficult, longer, and seem to multiply. It's hard to keep track of all you have left and you simply can't imagine that there's only two weeks left of the semester. It just seems impossible to keep yourself motivated and on task. How can you keep writing that History paper when it's so nice outside and your friends want to go get water ice?

Something that has helped me when I'm starting to feel tired and uninterested in doing homework is remembering why I'm here in the first place. I am here to get an education, and for that I am extremely grateful. I remind myself of all my motivators and wonderful support system of family and friends (and puppy), and continue to work hard! Just when you feel like giving up and doing a page less than the minimum length, think about why you are here. Think about how proud you'll be when you're handed that diploma a few years (or semesters) down the road!

In the meantime, study for your finals and finish up those last few assignments. That being said, don't be too hard on yourself! Treat yourself to a few breaks as a reward after you've gotten something done or at least started. Go to Jazzman's and grab a smoothie with a friend; you'll relax and enjoy yourself. What works best for me is visiting the local pet store and playing with the puppies for bit before working on a project. This is the time you should be kind to yourself as well as making sure that you're eating a nutritious diet and getting enough sleep.

Summer will be here before you know it! Until then, keep pushing yourself and stay motivated!

Sincerely,

Francesca
