In the summer months, we love to see our campus blooming. The magnolia tree by Widener Hall smells fragrant and sweet, the canopy of trees is lush, full, and green, and flowers blossom to remind us of the joys of summertime. While we are amazed by the beauty of our campus in full summer bloom, one thing is missing – YOU! We miss the energy and sensation of our students on campus. YOU are the life and heartbeat of Cabrini.
While the COVID pandemic has caused so much uncertainty, there is something wonderful about the certainty of the start of a school year. The rituals of back-to-school shopping, move-in day, and the first day of classes punctuate our year each August. Your presence on campus reminds us of our shared purpose and values. Our spirits are renewed because of your energy. Thank you for being our Cabrini students and rejuvenating us to be the best professors and administrators that we can be in order to carry out Cabrini’s Mission.
We recognize that the past year and a half have been challenging for all of us. We have been amazed at your resilience, determination, and dedication to excellence regardless of the challenges you’ve faced throughout 2020 and 2021. While the pandemic is not over, we are hopeful for the year ahead. We hope that you have an amazing year of learning and growing in community with one another. Please continue to take care of yourselves – your mental and physical health and wellness is so important. Seek out support from Counseling and Psychological Services, talk to your faculty, advisors, and coaches, and lean on your Cabrini community. We promise to be here to support you through life’s highs and lows.
To the class of 2025, welcome to Cabrini! To the class of 2022, we cannot wait to celebrate you in May! To all of our students, welcome home. We are so glad to have you back. All is right in our world when we hear your voices, see your smiles, and know that you are home.
