For any student that feels like they will come across troubles with finding jobs, internships, and general connections to the outside world, The Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) and Handshake are an amazing outlet for this concern.
The CCPD is an office on campus located in the Widener Cetner where Cabrini's career services specialists and counselors offer advising and career management support to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as alumni. They provide different strategic plans that help further develop your professional and personal career. It gives current and past students a blanket of reassurance that there are resourceful connections Cabrini offers to aid your journey.
Handshake is an online platform that Cabrini provides free access to when you use your school email address to sign up. Within the software, students are able to have their resumes and cover letters critiqued, receive general career counseling and guidance like confirming majors, practice their interview preparation and performances, further guidance preparing for graduate school, and assist with the entire process relating to job or internship searches.
Both of these opportunities are incredibly resourceful as you navigate through your college experience. Starting at university with uncertainty, can be unsettling, but Cabrini provides these resources that will make you feel confident and benefit you as you look for internships and eventually a career.
