Students, families, alumni, and Cabrini fans alike came out this past weekend to celebrate Cabrini Homecoming 2019. Everyone showed their blue and white pride throughout the weekend both on and off-campus at the many events and activities during the four-day celebration.
Thursday, 9/26: Bonfire and Pep Rally
Homecoming weekend officially kicked off with the lighting of the bonfire outside of Grace Hall on Thursday night. Students were fired up with performances by the Cheerleaders, Dance Company, Dance Team, and Step Team. The contestants for the Mr. and Miss Cabrini Pageant were announced, and students ended the night by cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles to a 34-27 win on the big screen.
Friday, 9/27: Cabrini Night at the Phillies
Students and alumni traveled to Citizens Bank Park to cheer on the Philadelphia Phillies on a beautiful Friday night. Cabrini fans could be seen in the sea of red Phillies shirts wearing 2019 Cabrini Night at the Phillies T-shirts, dancing on the big screen, and eating crab fries. After going into a 15th inning, the Phillies topped the Miami Marlins 5-4 and sent Cabrini fans home celebrating.
Saturday, 9/28: Homecoming Festival
Students, alumni, and families spent the sunny Saturday afternoon enjoying live music, craft vendors, food trucks, and lawn games outside of Dixon Center for the height of the Homecoming weekend. Current students received 'Cabrini Nation' T-shirts in classic Cabrini blue, and alumni enjoyed complimentary beer and wine at the drink tent. Attendees made stops to food trucks selling loaded tater tots, pulled pork sliders, and crab cake sandwiches. To end the afternoon, Cabrini fans cheered on the Men's Soccer team at 3pm in their close loss to the Farleigh Dickinson University Florham Devils at the Edith Robb Dixon Field.
