5 Best Places to Eat Off Campus

Posted on 9/25/2019 8:26:17 PM by Marisa Linsky

Whether you're tired of waiting in line at the "Action Station" in Cavs Corner or celebrating the A you just got on your history paper, sometimes you just need a break from the cafeteria food. One of the best things about Cabrini's location is the dozens of options to eat off-campus without spending a ton of money. Here are my five favorite places to eat in Wayne/Villanova, which are all within a 15-minute drive from campus.

When you want some variety: Minella's Diner

If you haven't eaten at Minella's Diner after a finals cram session, are you really a student at Cabrini? Open 24 hours a day, Minella's is the perfect spot to satisfy your hunger for pretty much any food. From pasta to sandwiches to comfort food and all-day breakfast, Minella's has an option for everyone. Distance from campus: 1.8 miles or 6-minute drive

When you want your basics: Panera Bread

The Panera Bread on Lancaster Ave is the perfect spot to grab lunch and finish that ECG project. With their large menu of soups, salads, sandwiches, and baked goods, you can enjoy a good meal and work at your leisure in their quiet dining area with free Wi-Fi. For students on campus without a car, the Cabrini Shuttle even drops off/picks up at the Panera shopping center. Distance from campus: 1.4 miles or 5-minute drive

When you're craving pizza: Snap Pizza

Snap Pizza is one of my favorite go-to restaurants. Located just past Villanova, Snap Pizza uses fresh ingredients to make your custom ordered personal pizzas. Snap also has gluten-free and vegan pizza options and offers take out, dine-in, and delivery. My roommates love their gluten-free cauliflowercrust! Distance: 4 miles or a 13-minute drive

When you're craving something sweet: Handel's Ice Cream or Hope's Cookies

Ice cream is probably my favorite dessert, and sometimes the fro-yo machine in the caf or a milkshake from CRUSH just doesn't make the cut. My two favorite ice cream places are Handel's Ice Cream and Hope's Cookies. Handel's has a huge variety of homemade ice cream flavors and is open year-round. Distance from campus: 3.9 miles or 11-minute drive.

Hope's Cookies, located in the same storefront as Snap Pizza, is the perfect place to fulfill your cookie/ice cream/milkshake craving. Hope's is known for their "cookie-wiches" which is any of their homemade ice cream flavors sandwiched between two of their fresh baked cookies. Hope's releases new cookie flavors for every season, and they also have gluten-free/vegan cookie options. Distance from campus: 4 miles or a 13-minute drive.
