’Twas The Night Before Graduation

Posted on 5/7/2018 10:15:31 AM by Molly Seaman

’Twas the night before graduation,

And all through the town, the seniors were on their final countdown.

Their grad caps were hung in their closets with care, in preparation for the large affair.

The professors were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of their students succeeding danced in their heads.

While picking out the outfit that would match with their cap, the seniors realized they had time for one more semester nap.

When out on the Mansion lawn there arose such a clatter, they all came running to see what was the matter.

When, what to their wondering eyes should appear, Calvin the Cavalier was shedding a tear.

“You’ve left your mark these last four years, and now you’re all leaving to start your careers.”

The seniors approached Calvin and comforted his sorrow,

Knowing that they too, were scared about tomorrow.

Out came DT, to comfort them all, knowing that they would succeed whatever their call.

"With your talent, and smarts, and Education of the Heart too,

A life lived with purpose is sure to ensue.

"Don’t forget your Cabrini family, we will always be here,

Whether you land very far or near."

A writer, a lawyer, a teacher, a coach

A business professional, were all in their hopes.

It was time to walk and say goodbye,

Who knew how fast the four years would fly.

The graduates dispersed and laid down their heads

For it was their last sleep as Cabrini undergrads.

Tomorrow came, and the caps were tossed,

Their memories of this moment would not be lost.

Go forward with courage,

and do not be discouraged,

For the legacy of our class will always live on.

Congrats, Class of 2018!
