How to deal with a stressful semester

Posted on 6/15/2018 11:27:35 PM by Keegan McKoskey

Having a stressful semester is inevitable in college. There's going to be a time where everything is piling up and you feel like this could be the hardest semester of college. But in college, there has to always be something to help deal with stress.

One of my favorite things to do after a stressful day is to play video games. Some days I don’t get to play that often or at all, and other days it helps with my daily stress. Sometimes, even video games stress me out but it is one thing to look forward to at the end of the day.

When I have a busy day with classes, meetings or tons of homework to do, I know to look forward to that relaxing hour or two of playing video games to wind down my day.

Being stressed out in college is normal, that’s part of the reason some of my friends couldn’t handle college. College is where you are completely on your own, and if someone hasn’t experienced that before college it can be tough.

I tend to break everything down day by day. I always tell my friends I take one day at a time. I try not to worry about tomorrow or the next day because I like to focus on today. That’s where video games come in to play. Every day it is that one time when I don’t have to focus on homework, work, or anything else that is stressing me out.

As the semesters pile up, college can be a stressful time no matter what semester it is. It is important to have something to bring happiness and joy to your life. Netflix, video games, and my dog at home keep me focused on school work and getting time to enjoy those things as well.
