Cabrini to Add Men's Volleyball as 20th Sport Offering in 2023-24

Posted on 10/17/2022 3:59:04 PM

RADNOR, Pa. – Cabrini University Director of Athletics and Recreation Kate Corcoran has announced the addition of Men's Volleyball as a varsity sport offering at the university. The inaugural season will be during the 2023-24 academic year, with competition commencing in Spring 2024.

"Student athletes are a key component of the welcoming spirit at Cabrini University and they evidence our commitment to excellence in their athletic and academic performance," said Cabrini University Interim President Helen Drinan. "We are delighted to create more competitive opportunities with the addition of Men's Volleyball."

"Cabrini University is very excited to announce men's volleyball as our 20th intercollegiate athletics program," said Cabrini University Director of Athletics Kate Corcoran. "Men's Volleyball has seen steady growth over the past decade in Division III and we feel now is the right time for this program at Cabrini. We believe this will allow us to attract new male students to the University."

Men's Volleyball becomes the Blue and White's first new varsity program since adding both baseball and women's rowing during the 2016-17 academic year. This will expand the men's sport offerings to nine with the women holding steady at 11 for the 2023-24 academic year.

An extensive national search will begin immediately to fill the head coaching position.

The addition of men's volleyball adds to the stable of successful programs that Cabrini now offers, which includes over 140 conference championships and the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse National Championship.
