Dear Cabrini community,
I wanted to pass along further details surrounding the spring 2021 semester and the adjustments that have been implemented to help protect our community against rising COVID-19 infection rates.
As a reminder, the first three weeks of the spring 2021 semester (January 25 through February 14) will utilize exclusively online instruction.
Course registration can be conducted through the Cabrini Portal and will remain open until February 3 (the close of add/drop). Intended course modalities are listed on the Term Master Schedule, and we expect all course modalities to resume February 15.
If the restrictions to campus access pose a financial or academic hardship, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can help address your concern prior to the start of the semester.
Residence halls will open for returning residential students the weekend of February 13-14. Please note, any student returning to live in the residence halls is required to provide a documented negative COVID-19 test result, in addition to meeting additional criteria as indicated by Residence Life. Results must be from a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test; those from rapid results tests will not be accepted. Cabrini will be offering on-campus testing free to resident students on:
Saturday, February 6 – 10am to 2pm
Monday, February 8 – 10am to 4pm
Tuesday, February 9 – 10am to 4pm
Please see our Residence Life page for more information on returning to campus and testing.
Please note, dinner on February 13 will be the first board meal provided, and shuttle service will resume February 14.
Cabrini will be providing credits for room and board and other incidentals such as parking to those students directly impacted by the delayed opening of residence halls. Affected students’ Cabrini accounts will be credited by March 31, 2021. Please note, Flex Dollars on meal plans will not be adjusted and should be used in full by the end of the semester. Those students who have purchased an annual parking permit or a permit in the spring semester will also have their accounts credited with a prorated adjustment. Refunds for any credit on a student account will not be processed until the student graduates or officially withdraws from the University.
Our Campus Store and textbook provider, Follett, will be open and available for in-store pickup of textbooks and other course materials ordered online with the following schedule:
January 25-29: 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday
Starting February 1: 9am-4pm, Monday through Friday
For those who require it, we have identified a list of classroom and computer lab space available January 25 through February 14, while instruction is online only. Additionally, the Holy Spirit Library will be open on a modified schedule:
Through January 24: Virtual services 8:30am-5pm, Monday through Friday
January 25-February 13: Virtual services noon-5pm on Sundays, 8:30am-5pm Monday through Friday
February 14: Holy Spirit Library building opens, noon-10pm
February 15: Resumes normal hours
Library materials can be returned to the curbside book drop, and chat reference will be available. See cabrini.edu/library for details.
Should you have additional questions as we head into the spring semester, please direct them to email@example.com.
Again, I thank you for your efforts at keeping our community and the greater public safe, and I look forward to a healthy start to the spring 2021 semester.
