RADNOR, PA—Cabrini University will celebrate its 61st Commencement exercises with four separate ceremonies on campus Saturday, May 22, 2021. Each ceremony will be held under a tent on the Upper Athletic Field, rain or shine, to accommodate the maximum number of attendees while following state-mandated COVID-19 mitigation guidelines and best practices.
“As we prepare to honor the Class of 2021, the safety of all graduates, guests, faculty, and staff is our topmost priority,” said University President Donald B. Taylor, PhD. “I commend our students for their determination and drive in achieving this significant milestone. They have persevered through more than a year of adjusting to a new kind of college life, and they will graduate well-prepared to go on to great success wherever their paths may lead them.”
The times for the ceremonies are as follows:
- School of Business, Arts and Media, 9am
- School of Education, 11:30am
- School of Humanities and Social Sciences, 2pm
- School of Natural Sciences and Allied Health, 4:30pm
Board of Trustees Chair Frank R. Emmerich Jr., JD (’92), a commercial trial lawyer at Eckert Seamans in Philadelphia, will deliver the Commencement address and receive an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters at the 9am ceremony. His speech will be recorded and shown at the other ceremonies.
Each graduate and two guests will be seated together with six feet of distance from all other graduates and guests, regardless of vaccination, and face coverings will be required. The seating area will be sanitized between ceremonies. The University is prepared to make adjustments as warranted by changes to state recommendations regarding safety during the pandemic.
A livestream of each ceremony will also be available for students, friends, and family members who are unable to attend in person.
Cabrini previously held three in-person Commencement ceremonies in August 2020, following a virtual conferral of degrees in May that year.
