Cabrini University has completed an initial distribution to students of emergency relief funds made possible by the federal Department of Education’s Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, and has disseminated an application to obtain additional funding for those who demonstrate additional hardship and/or exceptional circumstances.
In accordance with federal guidelines, more than $1 million of Cabrini’s CARES Act funding will be distributed directly to students as emergency financial aid grants for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to COVID-19. To date, Cabrini has distributed approximately 90% of that funding, reserving approximately 10% to be disbursed via the application system. The application and process for applying was emailed to all students who meet the DoE’s eligibility requirements on June 15, and should be completed by June 30.
