RADNOR, Pa. (Sept. 12, 2017)—Cabrini University has named José Rodriguez Director of Student Diversity Initiatives. Rodriguez began his role on Sept. 7.
At Cabrini, Rodriguez will develop, implement, and assess campus inclusivity initiatives, training and education opportunities, and student services to help promote a positive campus community and advance student success.
For more than two decades, Rodriguez has served as a student and diversity advocate. Prior to Cabrini, Rodriguez was the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Penn State Abington. While there, he designed training for faculty, staff, and students and provided counseling and advising to students through academic and co-curricular initiatives, orientation and leadership development, campus-wide programming, crisis intervention, facilitations, and mediating. He also coordinated community outreach programs, retention services, academic enrichment programs, and international student services.
Rodriguez was awarded a Fulbright Award in 2007 and is a Certified Diversity Trainer through The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and The National Multicultural Institute (NMCI).
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Allegheny College and a Master of Education from the University of Pennsylvania.
