Rebecca Campbell

RADNOR, Pa. (March 24, 2014) — The Cabrini College Nerney Leadership Institute welcomes its second Executive in Residence, Rebecca Campbell, president of ABC Owned Television Stations Group, on April 23.

She will participate in a day-long program including a campus-wide presentation from
3:15 to 4:30 p.m. in the Mansion on the Cabrini College campus (610 King of Prussia Road, Wayne, Pa.)

Attendance is limited to members of the Cabrini community, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and trustees.

The Executive-in-Residence program brings leaders in the corporate and non-profit sectors to serve one or two day residencies at the College. The leaders are selected for their extraordinary spiritual, emotional, and organizational leadership accomplishments.

During Campbell’s residency, she will share her leadership experience in the communications industry and discuss the future of broadcasting and how practicing social justice and civic engagement can coincide with professional success.

Appointed president of the ABC Owned Television Stations Group in May 2010, Campbell is responsible for the Group's eight TV stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston, Raleigh-Durham and Fresno.

She also oversees businesses including ABC National Television Sales, a sales representation unit for the owned stations and outside clients, and Live Well Network, a broadcast, online and wireless programming service for digital channels in local markets.

Previously, Campbell served as president and general manager of the Group's WABC-TV in New York and WPVI-TV in Philadelphia. She began her career at KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh and held programming and production positions at WFMZ-TV in Allentown, Pa.; WGAL-TV in Lancaster, Pa., and WPVI-TV.

Throughout her career, Campbell has played an active role in many civic and industry organizations, including the League of Women Voters of the City of New York Education Fund and the Broadcasters Foundation of America. She was recently named “2013 Broadcaster of the Year” by the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters and was inducted into the association's Hall of Fame in May 2013.

Campbell graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts in journalism and political science from Bloomsburg University.

In collaboration with Thomas P. Nerney '77, chair of Cabrini's Board of Trustees, Cabrini College established the Nerney Leadership Institute in spring 2013 to develop a new paradigm for leadership education at the College. Further options for leadership development are now available at Cabrini including a certificate program, undergraduate minor and a Master of Science in Leadership with concentrations in civic, non-profit and organizational.
