RADNOR, Pa. (July 15, 2014) — Cabrini will host more than 100 education professionals and local police and hospital personnel for The Policy Institute on Sexual and Cyber Misconduct on Aug. 15.

The interactive workshop will educate participants on current legal standards, response requirements, and prevention strategies.

Leading expert on sexual misconduct in schools, Katie Koestner, will facilitate the event.

In 1991, Koestner appeared on the cover of TIME magazine as the first woman to speak nationally about being a victim of date rape. As an advocate for student safety, Koestner founded Campus Outreach Services to educate schools on best practices in the prevention of sexual misconduct, bullying, alcohol abuse and student safety issues.

During the workshop, nationally recognized experts in law, policy and communications will present on policy definitions, Title IX requirements, government mandates, response protocols, disciplinary procedures, prevention education and boundaries in social media.

“Cabrini is honored to partner with The Policy Institute to further expand the knowledge and prevention of sexual misconduct,” says George Stroud, Cabrini’s dean of students. “The College has a committee of faculty and staff dedicated to educating the campus community about sexual misconduct, and they are eager to collaborate with fellow professionals in the tri-state area to address this critical issue.”

Presenters include: John J. “Jack” Whelan, District Attorney of Delaware County; Nancy Conrad, chair of Labor and Employment Group and Education Law Group at White and Williams, LLP; and experts across the country in higher education.
