RADNOR, Pa. (May 30, 2013) — Three Cabrini College faculty members are recipients of awards given at the College: James Hedtke, Ph.D., Nicholas Jacques, and Cathy Yungmann. The faculty were honored the Faculty Research and Scholarship Reception on May 2, 2013.
Hedtke, professor of history and political science, and Jacques, assistant professor of studio art, are the 2013 recipients of the Buzzallino Faculty Scholarship. They received the award for “fostering a climate of lifelong learning and enriching the intellectual life of the campus.”
Established by Joan M. Buzzallino, retired vice president for human resources for manufacturing and sales at IBM Corporation, and a 1966 alumna and former Trustee of Cabrini College, the Buzzallino Family Faculty Fund recognizes and rewards faculty members who are dedicated to academic excellence and outstanding undergraduate teaching and who carry out the vision and spirit of Cabrini College on a daily basis.
Yungmann, associate professor of communication at Cabrini College, received the 2013 Rose and Raymond Green Faculty Award.
The Rose and Raymond Green endowment was established by Frank and Carol-Rae Sodano, to be awarded in memory of her mother, Rose Basile Green, a beloved professor and first chairwoman of the English department at Cabrini College, and her father, Raymond S. Green, who enjoyed a lifetime career in broadcasting.
The endowment annually funds an award to promote the professional development of faculty who teach English and/or Communication.
