Executive Director, Wolfington Center
Thomas M. Southard, JD, was named Director of the Wolfington Center at Cabrini in 2015.
Southard previously served as the Center's administrator of community partnerships, helping to fortify relationships between community partners and Cabrini students, faculty and staff to advance the College’s community-based learning within the Justice Matters core curriculum.
For more than a decade, Southard has worked to ensure nonprofit organizations identify and meet growing challenges. Before joining Cabrini in 2013, Southard was policy analyst at Independent Sector, the national network of nonprofit and foundations. There, he researched and consulted on the potential impact that current and proposed legislation had on nonprofit organizations.
Prior to that, Southard was program director of the Delaware Association of Nonprofit Agencies where he worked with more than 200 nonprofit members. Southard also was an instructor at the School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Delaware.
Southard earned a Bachelor of Arts in community studies and civic engagement and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Baltimore. He earned a Master of Arts in philanthropic studies from Indiana University’s Center on Philanthropy and a Juris Doctorate from Villanova University School of Law, where he served as managing editor of the Journal of Catholic Social Thought and a public interest fellow.
