About the Journal

Praxis: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Faith and Justice is a new scholarly journal founded to advance the intersection of theory and practice in the pursuit of social justice. Emphasizing the contributions of practitioners and organizations to the Catholic social tradition and other religious traditions of social justice, the journal features refereed articles, invited essays, and reviews of noteworthy gatherings and events.

Sponsored by the Wolfington Center at Cabrini University, it is published twice annually, with a themed issue in the spring and an open call in the fall.

A Cabrinian Journal

Praxis is inspired by the work and charism of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, who continually urged her Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to seek out the places where Christ’s love was needed most in the world.  The journal follows in the footsteps of the MSCs as it seeks out “the good that must be done” today.

This same missionary spirit led Cabrini University to be one of the first institutions of higher education to incorporate service into its innovative Justice Matters core curriculum.  Today our faculty are leaders in the integration of community partnerships in teaching and research.  Praxis expands this vital collaboration between scholars and practitioners to include dialogue partners from diverse scholarly and religious backgrounds around the world.
