Guidance for Specific Workplace Scenarios
Gatherings and meetings should be conducted virtually whenever possible, even when you are on campus. Extracurricular activities and events that cannot be conducted virtually should follow our physical distancing guidelines.
Large gatherings and events will continue to be significantly decreased through the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, and must adhere to the requirements that correspond to the appropriate phase of Governor Wolf’s reopening plan (i.e., no more than 250 people outdoors, 25 people indoors in the green phase, physical distancing measures and face masks in place, etc.). Cabrini will not host on-campus large events to the external public in the fall 2020 semester.
Facilities and Operating Procedures
On-campus buildings and rooms have been surveyed for capacity while maintaining appropriate physical distancing guidelines, and availability of seating, etc., has been adjusted accordingly. Buildings will adhere to lower capacities at one time to maintain compliance with health guidelines and physical distancing mandates.
Additionally, campus signage will provide further directions for mitigating the spread of the virus.
Meals and Dining Services
Dining services will be available throughout the fall 2020 semester with strict mitigation measures and enhanced safeguards in place. Seating has been reduced and repositioned to meet physical distancing requirements. Signage will indicate appropriate physical distancing guidelines and designated flow of foot traffic. All stations will be attended by Sodexo personnel, and we are expanding our single-use, disposable item options. We will also be increasing the take-out and Grab and Go options.
Masks should be worn in all dining areas unless you are actively eating (when you are getting your food/drinks and as soon as you have finished eating).
Food may be delivered to campus, but delivery persons must adhere to our updated Visitor Guidelines and are not permitted in buildings. Contactless delivery, in which payments are made online and physical distancing is observed during delivery, is preferred.
Classroom setups have been assessed and adjusted to accommodate appropriate physical distancing guidelines.
Anyone entering a classroom is required to wear a face mask and adhere to physical distancing guidelines, including while entering and exiting.
Professors will wear a face shield while lecturing to address audibility and accessibility concerns as well as audio quality concerns for the livestreamed counterpart to class attendance in the hyflex modality. When not lecturing, everyone should adhere to the guidelines surrounding wearing a face mask.
Classrooms will be thoroughly disinfected to start each day, and cleaning materials will be provided for sanitizing throughout the day and between uses.
In addition to the classroom guidelines above, current laboratory safety procedures (available in the Science Department Handbook) will be in effect.
The Dixon Center and Nerney Pavilion remain open to on-campus community members only, with strict mitigation measures and enhanced safeguards in place. Physical distancing of 13 feet must be maintained at all times when using equipment, which will be marked accordingly. An “availability clock” system will be utilized to indicate what items and equipment have been sanitized by staff and is approved for use.
Limited occupancy and alternate hours of operation to allow for enhanced cleaning will be enforced.
All facility users should enter through the Nerney Pavilion Main Lobby, where you will be screened and counted at the Front Desk. All other exterior doors will remain inaccessible to card readers and/or fingerprint access.
You must exit the facility via the Pool Lobby, after which you will be removed from the occupancy count.
Masks must be worn at all times in the building. Those swimming laps should wear a mask onto the pool deck; it can be removed when you are actively swimming laps, and should be worn again as soon as you have finished.
If possible, wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer upon entering the facility (prior to using equipment) and as soon as possible after completing your workout.
Locker rooms will be unavailable for use until further notice.
If/when using public transportation, wear a mask at all times, limit touching surfaces, and avoid touching your face. Clean your hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer with 60 percent alcohol as soon as possible.
Working in an Office
Practice six feet of physical distance within your work environment at all times and wear a mask whenever you’re in a room with another person. Always follow the Personal Safety Practices provided.
Observe six feet of physical distance in restrooms and wash your hands thoroughly after using the restroom.
Public restrooms (those in high-traffic areas) will be cleaned at minimum three times per day. Private bathrooms (single bathrooms housed within a specific department/area) will be thoroughly disinfected to start each day.
Limit elevator occupancy to two people at a time, positioned in opposite corners. Refrain from touching the buttons with exposed hands and fingers, if possible, and clean your hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer as soon as possible after departing the elevator.
