The Center for Urban Education, Equity, and Improvement (CUEEI)
The Center for Urban Education, Equity, and Improvement integrates the mission of the University to further work alongside historically underserved communities and schools. Integrated throughout the Center’s activities and strategic initiatives is a commitment to service, strengthening relationships, and building solidarity.
The Center provides specialized training for teachers, educational leaders, and community members who want to transform urban education.
The Center will focus on service, skill sets, and scholarly products.
The Center’s conceptualization of service is to engage, listen to, support, and empower members of several sectors of urban communities including families; K–12 schools (private, public, charter); and youth development programs.
Our mission compels us to identify and meet the needs of the people who are most underserved, disadvantaged, and/or disenfranchised. Our mission drives us to cultivate mutually beneficial partnerships that bolster our institutional initiatives and sustained capacity to thrive.
