Mark M. Roesch, PhD
Associate Professor, Business
Mark is an international Senior Level Executive with 15+ years of increasing responsibility as CFO/CIO and Senior Manager in fast moving and changing corporations. Due to his consulting and Private Equity background, Mark has experience in multiple industries including manufacturing (automotive, chemical, special machinery) and services (consulting, education, retail). He has a proven track record in cost cutting, increasing revenue, reducingcomplexity, ERP-implementation and IT harmonization. As a problem-solver, Mark focuses on understanding processes and new ideas/potentials from the shop floor or the customer's perspective to develop and analyze strategies that impact the entire organization.
Mark began his career at Germany’s most successful retail Group ALDI, being chosen from 900 applicants for an executive training and education program. After finishing his Bachelor’s degree through ALDI, he was assigned core projects and duties within ALDI including introducing Euro currency, developing stores for internationalization, and managing up to 150 people in sales. Following ALDI, Mark moved to the industrial sector and, in a CFO role, restructured a supplier of special machinery for the semiconductor and solar industry. The turnaround succeeded without external consulting or financial help due to strong communication with all stakeholders and implementing required changes expeditiously.
Mark continued in roles as CFO/CIO or Senior Manager in larger and more international organizations including a consulting role for Europe’s well-known Private Equity Firm Aurelius. After completing two successful transactions for Aurelius, Mark has relocated his family to the US where he has lived and studied previously.
Mark achieved an International Executive MBA from Barry University, Florida and the GSO Management Institute in Nuremberg/Germany, and a PhD for Financial Management in the Automotive Supply Chain from Schumpeter School of Business at Wuppertal-University in Germany. The Aalen University asked Mark to become a visiting lecturer for a University Class. If time allows Mark enjoys this teaching assignment a few days per year mostly because of the interaction with students and faculty at the famous University.
