Ann D. Servey
Program Coordinator, Accounting
As coordinator of the accounting program at Cabrini, Ann Servey developed the College’s Master of Accounting (MAcc) program and included the opportunity for Cabrini undergraduate accounting majors to complete three MAcc graduate courses in their senior year.
Servey also coordinates the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at the University, which certifies students to prepare tax returns at no charge for individuals with low-to-moderate incomes.
In her courses, Servey introduces students to the United Nations Development Goals, enforcing the ideal that everyone should have access to food, education, clean water, and healthcare.
She encourages her students to understand their roles as global citizens and believes international experiences are life-changing. As such, Servey, developed the College’s first short-term study abroad course for academic credit.
In developing the course, she purposely included a pre- and post-study tour component with the study abroad experience. This allows students to examine the geography of the county, plus cultural, historical, economic, and international issues. The post-study tour activities involve reflection, presentation, and action.
Servey is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant and earned an MBA specializing in accounting and taxation at La Salle University and an MEd at Cabrini University.
