off-campus library services
Use the databases to find journal articles for your research. You can access the library’s databases from off-campus (if you are accessing these databases from off-campus you will need your Cabrini domain account username and password). This account username and password are different from your Cabrini One/Email account. Please check the Cabrini Accounts Management System at https://accounts.cabrini.edu or contact the Information Technology and Resources (ITR) Help Desk at (610) 902-8366 or email them at ITRhelp@Cabrini.edu.
Databases are found by selecting the Databases tab on the Library’s homepage. For education databases select first the Databases tab and then the “Education” subject heading. Suggested databases are: Academic Search Premier, Education Research Complete, PsycARTICLES, PsycINFO, and Sage Publications.
CAVALOG (named after our college mascot, the Cavalier) is Holy Spirit Library’s catalog. It is used to find books, e-books, videos, DVDs and other materials held by the Library. CAVALOG is available from the library’s homepage. Access points are word/phrase, author, title, subject, and series. To find e-books use the Search limits portion of the CAVALOG search screen and set the location to Internet.
Course guides are web pages used to assist students with the research process. Currently, we have course guides on Education Research, Finding Scholarly Journals in Education, and Writing a Literature Review. See the course guides link from the library’s homepage or access them directly at: http://www.cabrini.libguides.com/ocp
Librarians are available to assist with reference and research questions. The reference staff will assist by email, telephone, chat, or in-person. Please contact: Anne Schwelm, 610-902-8536, firstname.lastname@example.org; or Holy Spirit Library at email@example.com. Please use your Cabrini email when sending a request for reference via email. Brief tutorials are available to show you how to find a book, find an e-book, find an article in one of our education databases or how to use e-reserves. Access the tutorials directly by clicking here.
Your instructor may schedule a class during which a reference librarian will come to your site.
Monday-Thursday 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Friday 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Sunday Noon - 8:00 PM
* Reference hours vary during summer sessions and semester breaks.
Students have a three week circulation period for regularly circulating materials and three days for multimedia materials. There is no limit to the number of regularly circulating items that can be borrowed. For more information contact Circulation at 610-902-8538 or see the Policies link on our homepage.
In addition to borrowing privileges at Cabrini College, students may borrow materials in person from SEPCHE institutions and from member institutions of TCLC (Tri-state College Library Cooperative). Links to the SEPCHE and TCLC libraries are available from our homepage. In all cases, students must present proof of Cabrini affiliation and must request a letter of introduction from a Cabrini librarian for use at TCLC libraries.
